About Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA), led by Asia Education Medalist 2024 Baela Raza Jamil, is a Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy-certified and tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing education and social reform for over 24 years.

Established in 2000, ITA is committed to improving the quality of education, promoting inclusive learning, and advocating for evidence-based policy change across the country. Through its flagship initiative, ASER Pakistan, ITA conducts the nation’s most credible citizen-led education survey, and its programs impact over 1.5 million children annually.

ITA advances its mission through research, training, community mobilization, leadership development, and innovative learning approaches. The organization focuses on scaling successful education models, with priority areas including girls’ education and empowerment, foundational learning using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) methodology, early childhood education, and mobile learning libraries for schools and communities through the Kitab Gari and Mahol Gari initiatives.

In addition to its research work under ASER Pakistan—currently being conducted in eight political constituencies—ITA implements Siyani Saheliyan, a second-chance education program that enables adolescent girls to return to learning and transition into formal education or skills

pathways. Another major initiative, the Pakistan Learning Festival, is nearing a historic milestone with its upcoming 100th event, inspiring children, educators, and communities to explore learning beyond the traditional classroom.

With a deep-rooted commitment to innovation, equity, and systemic change, ITA continues to shape the future of education in Pakistan.
